Submitting Your Work

We seek original, unpublished poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Send fiction and nonfiction submissions as e-mail text to facetsmagazine@aol.com and poetry submissions as e-mail text to facetspoetry@aol.com. Due to compatibility considerations, please do not submit work as attachments. Submissions must include current contact information (name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address) and a biographical note. (For ideas about what biographical notes might include, consult our Contributors page in this or other issues.) The kind of submission should be indicated in the subject line (e.g., POETRY, FICTION, MEMOIR, etc.).

Length guidelines:

Fiction--one story	< 5,000 words
Nonfiction--one essay, memoir, etc.	< 5,000 words
Poetry--1-5 poems --1 long poem	approx. 1 page per poem  approx. 3 pages per poem

                      

Due to the increased volume of submissions, we will not consider more than five poems from any author at a time.

Facets is published every four months on or about February 1, June 1, and October 1. Please note that this is a change from the previous quarterly publication schedule.

Publication Policy

Acceptance of any story, essay, or poem is conditional upon not having been previously published or committed to another publication.

Unless authors specifically request that we not do so, we publish e-mail addresses with biographical notes. Because of this practice, many Facets contributors have received e-mail from readers or become cyber-friends with other writers.

Facets acquires first internet rights to work that is published. All rights revert to the author upon publication.

N.B.: Future appearances of work published in this magazine must cite the place of first publication, e.g., "Some of the poems in this book originally appeared in Facets (www.facets-magazine.com)," or "Portions of this novel originally appeared in Facets (www.facets-magazine.com)."
